Nathan and his cousins

Ashley McComb did it again.  She is a fabulous photographer and her work really shows it.  My wonderful sister-in-law scheduled a session with her and invited Nathan to join the shoot.  Here are some of the pictures taken one afternoon in May.  (The shoot was at Nathan's great grandmother's house, Momsie.  She and Nathan's grandaddy Chuck are in a couple of the photos.)

One More

We also saw my College Roomie while in Dallas, but somehow the pic didn't make the last post, so here it is.  We had a great time with you, Ash!

2009... So far!

So I am a horrible blogger, I know.  But, I hope to make up for it just a little with this post in pictures.  We have had a big year so far.  We went to Waco to visit family, College Station for a joint baby shower and reunion with my Architecture school girlfriends, celebrated the wedding of my cousin Joey and his lovely bride Maria, performed on stage in "Broadway on the Bayfront", went to Las Vegas, Dallas, had a big family Easter, took Nathan to a Fire Station, went to the Houston Children's Museum with Gramma, endured Nate's first haircut, ran a 5k in 26:46, and modeled in two Style Shows.  Enjoy this year in pictures... So far!

Nate is One!

Nathan turned one on Friday!  We had TWO cowboy parties to celebrate the big boy's birthday.  The first one was on Friday with all of his Portland family, his Great Papa and Memaw, and his friend Kailani and her parents.  Then on Saturday we celebrated in Houston with our out of town family.  Saturday's party also celebrated the other SIX December birthdays in our family.  Nathan had such a good time with everyone and loved his birthday cakes, mainly the icing.  Then Jonathan and I finished Saturday night at a Christmas party with his close friends from dental school.  We had a great weekend.  (FYI - Nathan took his first steps on December 4th!)

Fireproof

For those of you who have not seen the movie "Fireproof", I highly recommend it. Friday night Jonathan and I dropped Nate off with my aunt, uncle, and cousins (who absolutely adore him!) and we headed off to meet my sister-in-law and her husband at the movie theater. "Fireproof" is about a fireman (Kirk Cameron) who, pardon the pun, is putting fires out all over town, but letting his own marriage burn to the ground. As he is ready to walk away from the whole thing, his father gives him a book or "love dare". It consists of a 40 day challenge, where each day he must add a new concept to the way he treats his wife. This movie has an amazing story and is very enjoyable to watch. I cried; I laughed... what more could you ask for? To top it all off, the movie was made by a church who carries out God's mission through films. They shot the whole thing using only one camera! And, another interesting tidbit, is that when you see Kirk Cameron's character kissing his movie wife, it is his REAL wife. They made a commitment to eachother that they would not kiss anyone else. So, she's a "kissing double" for the actress. That's pretty amazing! Well, I just wanted to promote the movie, because it really touched me. If you want more information and theater locations, you can find it on http://www.fireproofthemovie.com/

On another note, here are some pictures of my angel over the past month or so:

Summer

Summer is here! Eventhough I no longer have three months of relaxation and fun in the summer without the worries, deadlines, and stress of school or work, there is still a special ring to saying the name of this season. "Summer" This is Nathan's first summer, and already he is living it up. He has been to the swimming pool, the beach, and on his first motor boat ride (which he absolutely loved!). And, although he slept most of the day at the beach, he did get to enjoy the sand between his toes for a little while and see his daddy take on the waves with a surf board. We are enjoying every bit of the summer (except for maybe the South Texas scorching sun and the sky-high temperatures) and we look forward to what else is in store! Here are some pictures from the last couple of months. As you can tell, my little angel is growing up too fast already! My favorite things this month are his infectious laughter and all of his babbling.
